The Waupaca High School Scholarship Foundation provides a number of scholarships for graduating seniors each year. The application is made available to students via their Google accounts. The 2024 application will be emailed to all WHS graduating seniors and is available from February 7th to March 13th. Please encourage your senior to apply! Watch this video for more details!
Here are the 5 essay questions should you want to get a jump start on the application (250 words or less):
1. Have you held a part-time and/or summer job, and how do you think this has benefited you?
2. Discuss a challenge or failure and how you overcame it.
3. How do you plan to finance your education? Are there any special circumstances that you would like the selection committee to be aware of?
4. Discuss your plans, including future education, career, and community activity.
5. Choose a person or persons you admire and explain why.

Boudry, Dr. Marshall & Mary - Memorial Scholarship Fund
2 - $1000 Scholarships
Graduating seniors from Waupaca HS who are planning to pursue a career in the
healthcare field and attend a 2 or 4 year accredited college/university or a technical school. The following will be considered: academic achievement, minimum 2.5 GPA; active in extra-curricular activities including, but not limited to school or club sports, community volunteerism, church clubs, organizations and/or work history.
Brunner, Donald G - Education Fund
3 - $20,000 Scholarships
ScholarshipsAwarded to graduating seniors from Waupaca High School who will be attending a 4-year college or university. Selection will be based on high academic achievement, extra-curricular involvement, community activities and leadership ability.
Paid at $5000 per year on a semester basis ($2500 per semester). Recipient must remain a fulltime student in good academic standing to renew the scholarship, with a 3.0 GPA minimum each semester. Student academic progression will be monitored.
Christensen, Edmund J. and Mary Lee Scholarship
Up to 4 - $2000 per year renewable scholarship for 4-years (total $8000) for a full-time student attending a 4-year college or university.
AND
Up to 4 - $1000 per year renewable scholarship for 2-years (total $2000) for a full-time student attending a 2-year technical college.
Awarded to graduating seniors from Waupaca High School who are planning to attend an accredited college, university, or technical college and are pursuing a career in music, physical therapy, occupational therapy (preference being given to physical therapy), or animal or veterinary science (preference being given to veterinary science). The following will be taken into consideration: academic achievement, extra-curricular and community involvement, conscientious and hardworking, and financial need.
Clear Water Harbor Scholarship
2 - $750 Scholarships
To be awarded to any Waupaca High School senior accepted at either an accredited technical school or 4-year college/university. Student must possess a minimum 2.0 GPA. The student must have been an employee of Clear Water Harbor. Strong emphasis is placed on financial need.
Countryside Animal Hospital Scholarship
1 - $500 Scholarship
Applicant must pursue a degree in either a 2-year Vet Tech degree or 4-year Animal Science degree at an accredited school. GPA of 3.0 or better. Must show preparation for program by taking high school courses that will support success. Work or volunteer experience in a veterinarian office or humane society can be helpful.
Cuellar, Profe - Scholarship (separate application – see other application link)

Student has to be in Spanish the second semester of their senior year.
Darrah - Wenberg Arts Scholarship
1 - $1000 Scholarship
To be awarded to a Waupaca High School graduate who is planning to attend any 4-year university, or 3-year accredited conservatory program, and MUST major in one of the following areas: Art/Visual Art, Art/Design, Art Education, Dance/Performance, Dance Education, English/Creative Writing, Music/Vocal Performance, Music/Instrumental Performance, Music Education, Theater/Performance, Theater/Technical, or Theater Education. Cumulative GPA of 2.8 and above.
Drayna, Joan - Memorial Scholarship
1 - $750 Scholarship
Seeks an exceptional academic female student pursuing a program in science, math or any non-traditional field. (This scholarship may not be awarded every year)
Ehnert, Dale T. - Scholarship
2 - $4000 Scholarships (Payable as $2000 for the first and second semesters of the first year of technical school.)
Graduating senior planning to attend an accredited technical school. Student must have excelled in Career & Technical Education. Demonstrating excellent employability skills through great attendance and a hard work ethic. Financial need may be a consideration.
Farmers State Bank Scholarship
2 - $1500 Scholarships
MUST plan to attend any 2-year or 4-year college or university, 3.0 GPA. Priority will be given to students entering a business field of study.
FBLA/Business Education Scholarship
1 or 2 - $200 Scholarships
MUST have had 2 years (4 semesters) of business education classes and a 2.5 GPA.
Gusmer Enterprise Scholarship
1 - $1750 Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior of Waupaca High School who will be attending a technical school or a 4-year college/university.
Hamilton, Sherry - Art Scholarship
1 - $1500 Scholarship
Student must be pursuing a degree in art, art education, or related field at a 4-year university/college or at a 2-year technical or specialized school.
Must have a GPA of 2.7 or higher. Financial need considered.
Hatherly, John - Athletic Scholarship
2 – $3000 Scholarships (1 male and 1 female athlete)
Scholarship awarded to students who have participated for at least two years on the Waupaca High School track or cross-country team and have shown outstanding sporting ability. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants are advised but not required to: demonstrate leadership in extra-curricular activities and show community involvement; and will be attending a 2 or 4-year college.
Hatherly, John - Dale Feldt Math Scholarship
1 - $3000 Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student for outstanding ability/achievement in the field of mathematics. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.3. Applicant is advised but not required to: demonstrate leadership in extra-curricular activities and show community involvement; and will be attending a 2 or 4 year college.
Hatherly, John - National Honor Society Scholarship
1 - $3000 Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student who was granted NHS membership in their Junior year. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.3. Applicant is advised but not required to: demonstrate leadership in extra-curricular activities and shows community involvement; participated or organized NHS projects; and will be attending a 2 or 4-year college.
Hatherly, John - "To Honor Those Who Serve(d)" Scholarship
1 - $3000 Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student whose parent(s) have served or are actively serving our country in a branch of the US Military, or a first responder. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicant is advised but not required to: demonstrate leadership in extracurricular activities and show community involvement; and will be attending a 2 or 4 year college.
Hometown Pharmacy Scholarship
1 - $500 Scholarship
Awarded to a graduate from the class of 2023. Students going into healthcare will be given preference, but all applicants will be considered.
Janssen Accounting Scholarship
1 - $1000 Scholarship
Applicant must pursue a degree in accounting at either a 2 or 4-year college or university, 3.25 GPA.
Johnson, David R. Mathematics Scholarship -
1 - $2500 Scholarship (renewable for four years) if the student is seeking a degree in mathematics education.
1-$1500 Scholarship (non-renewable) for a student seeking a degree in a math related field of study.
To be awarded to a Waupaca High School senior who will pursue a degree in the area of mathematics education or math related field. The applicant will be given special consideration if they are majoring in mathematics education, have taken 4 years of mathematics courses, and were a member of the math team at Waupaca High School.
Knoepfel, Gerald C. - Music Scholarship
1 or 2 - $500.00 or $1000 Scholarships
Applicant must be a WHS graduating senior with a 3.0 GPA, and must be accepted at a college, university, conservatory, or technical school for formal education in the field of music. (This scholarship may not be awarded every year.)
L & L Propane Scholarship
1 - $500 Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is enrolling in either a technical college or a university.
Larson, Jim & Diane - Family Fund Grant
1 - $2000 Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating WHS senior planning to attend a 4-year college or university. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need, work history, and school or community involvement will be considered.
Larson Family Scholarship
1 - $1000 Scholarship
Awarded to a Waupaca High School graduate who will be going to an accredited college or university studying to become a teacher.
Preference given to students pursuing a degree in Agriculture Education or English Education.
Lauritzen-Davies, Ella Shine – Memorial Scholarship
1 - $1000 Scholarship
Awarded to a WHS senior attending a 4 yr college. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Financial need is considered.
Morgan, John B. - Memorial Scholarship
1 - $500 Scholarship
Waupaca High School graduating senior who is pursuing a career in manufacturing, Student must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be accepted into an accredited college, university, or technical school.
Phantom Art Gallery Scholarship
2 - $750 Scholarships
Awarded to Waupaca High School graduates to help gifted students grow their talent in the Arts. Need to be pursuing a degree in the study or teaching of art which could include Art/Visual Art, Art/Design, Art/Education. Can attend a 4-year college or 2 yr- technical school.
Premier Community Bank
2 - $500 Scholarships
Awarded to a senior ranked in upper half of the class who plans to attend a university or technical school. Emphasis placed on community service.
Radler, Thom - Scholarship
2 - $1000 Scholarship
Awarded to a Waupaca High School graduate who is accepted at any accredited postsecondary school.
Must have a 3.0 GPA and shows promise to succeed. Financial need must be top basis for selection. Student should be involved in a variety of activities throughout their high school career. Outside job can be considered. Community service is not a requirement.
Rhoades Sanford Foundation, Inc
6 - $2500 Scholarships
Provide scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate degrees in the Arts, Humanities, Religious Studies, Education, and selected Social Sciences. Scholarships for those students seeking continuing education degrees are also offered in the same disciplines with priority given to those applicants with a demonstrated interest in Religious Studies or course studies leading to a Doctor of Divinity degree.

Awarded to students who will be attending an accredited technical college or 4 yr college/university. Financial need will be a consideration.
Rotary Scholarship
1 - $4000 Scholarship - Mike Malone Service Above Self (Payable $1000/year for 4 years)
Emphasis is on service to others, leadership and recruiting other volunteers. Student must be attending either a 4-year college or technical college. Main criteria for selection will be community service.

1 - $1000 Scholarship
Awarded to a Waupaca High School student going into nursing school. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Non-traditional students encouraged to apply. Student may attend a technical school or 4 yr university.
School District of Waupaca - Employee Appreciation Scholarship
2 - $250 Scholarships
Students need to show initiative and desire to help others. Attendance record considered.
Must be attending a 2 or 4-year school
Shearer, Frank and Marilyn - Scholarship
1 - $1000 Scholarship
Scholarship renewable for three years (total of four years) if satisfactory progress is being made toward degree at accredited college/university. Recipient must show need and interest in elementary education or an agricultural field. It is the responsibility of the recipient to submit transcript of academic status to the guidance office at the end of current school year to prove continued eligibility.
Shindig Scholarship
2- $1000 Scholarships
Awarded to a graduating senior attending either a 2-year technical college or university.
Preference will be given to a student who has shown an interest in giving back to the community.
Strongwood Scholarships - Thad & Amy Marcom (Recommended)
1- $1000 - University Scholarship
To be awarded to a student preferably going into business - any type, however, not mandatory based on application. Student involved in extracurricular activities are a plus.
1-$500 - Technical School Scholarship
To be awarded to a student going into any trade. Student involved in extracurricular activities are a plus.
Town of Waupaca - Casey Community Scholarship
1 - $500.00 Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior from either Waupaca OR Weyauwega High School. The student must live in the Town of Waupaca - not city. First consideration to a student attending FVTC; then a student attending any post-secondary institution will be considered.
Vaux, Patti - Little Fat Gretchen's Dreamers Scholarship
1 - $1000.00 Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student who has aspirations of pursuing a career in the creative arts (culinary, art, graphics, etc.), nursing or in the area of entrepreneurship. Must be accepted to a college or technical college and be "Waupaca Good".
Vergauwen, Carol & Fran - Family Scholarship
2 - $5000 Scholarships
Awarded to graduating seniors from Waupaca High School who will be attending a 2 yr technical school or a 4-yr college/university. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Heavy emphasis on community involvement and participation in high school actvities (not necessarly sports).
(Scholarship recipients must maintain 2.8 GPA or higher and student must write a letter on the 2nd year about their first year in post secondary school)

2 - $500 Scholarships
Scholarships to be awarded to a graduate of Waupaca High School. Must have veteran in immediate family (may consider extended family).
Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce - Greg Wehmeyer Memorial Scholarship
3 - $1000 Scholarships
Applicant must be a Waupaca High School senior accepted at any technical school or college. The applicant must have an affiliation with the chamber. The affiliation can be through a parent who is a chamber investor, works for a chamber investor or the student can be employed by a chamber investor. The scholarship will be awarded based on financial need and a desire to continue their education, not necessarily on academic performance.
Waupaca Area Model Railroaders Scholarship
1 - $800 Scholarship
Awarded to a student planning to attend either college or technical school. Preference will be given to a student who has not received other scholarships.
Waupaca Area Triathlon Scholarship
2 - $1000 Scholarships
Student must be pursuing a degree in a health and/or fitness related field. Student may be pursuing either a 2 or 4-year degree.
Waupaca Chain O’Lakes Association Scholarship
1 - $1500 Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a student going to a 4-year university or a 2-year technical college to pursue a degree in the field of Natural Resources/Environmental Studies. Preference is given to students attending either UW Stevens Point or Fox Valley Technical College. 3.0 GPA recommended.
Waupaca Class of 1978 Scholarship
1 - $500 Scholarship
Awarded to graduating seniors from Waupaca High School who will be attending an accredited technical school. Preference will be given to students pursuing a career in the trades. No GPA requirements, one-time scholarship.

Applicants must show they have provided community or volunteer service.
Waupaca High School Healthcare Scholarships

Awarded to graduating seniors from Waupaca High School who will be attending a technical school and/or college to pursue a career in healthcare. All fields of healthcare will be considered with a primary focus on nursing, including certified nursing assistant.
Waupaca Kiwanis Scholarship
1 - $500 Scholarship
To be awarded to a graduating senior who volunteers in the community and is planning to attend a technical school or a 4-year college.
Waupaca Lions Scholarship
5 - $1000 Scholarships
Awarded to students attending a 4-year college or 2-year technical college.
Community service, volunteering, and helping others in need are the main criteria for this scholarship.
Waupaca Nomads Scholarship
1 or more - $1000 Scholarships
Awarded to Waupaca High School seniors. Students must be accepted at the school of their choice. No minimum grade point.
WLC PTG Scholarship
2 - $1000 Scholarships
Must have attended the WLC for a minimum of two years. Student needs to exemplify the “Waupaca Way”. Community service is considered.
